Scottish Diamond Gloves

"Sanquhar is a small but ancient town in southwest Scotland, in the region called Dumfries and Galloway. There has been a strong knitting tradition there since the 18th century. The distinctive "bordered squares" design used in these gloves is characteristic of Sanquhar knitting.

Authentic Sanquhar gloves have two different diamond patterns which alternate both vertically and horizontally. After you master the single diamond pattern in these gloves you'll be ready for much grander things!"

Shetland Chevrons Scarf

The traditional New Shale stitch adapted by Shirley Scott (aka Shirl the Purl) to create this fabulous scarf.

This scarf is done in a "Berry" colourway -- 7 luscious shades of Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift fingering weight yarn.  Finished measurements are 170 cm x 19 cm (67 x 7.5 inches).
